Evraz Caspian Steel, LLP
“Caspian Group” JSC in partnership with the management company Evraz Group SA - one of the largest vertically integrated industrial groups in Russia established a manufacturer of rolled steel in Kostanai. EvrazKaspianSteel is the first manufacturer of fittings from primary raw materials in Kazakhstan.
The project is a plant for the production of merchant bars (steel fittings) with a volume of 450 thousand tons per year. The fittings are a metal product that is used for reinforcing concrete structures. The assortment includes the fittings of various lengths from 10 to 40 mm in diameter, including A500SP unique fittings of the brand Evraz.
Since May, 2014 the industrial production of fittings has been adjusted. In 2015, it was planned to reach the plant’s designed capacity.
The total cost of the project was 131 million US dollars. This project was implemented with the support of the State represented by “Development Bank of Kazakhstan” JSC.
The main raw material for production will be steel billets supplied from the West Siberian Metallurgical Combine in Novokuznetsk (a subsidiary of “EvrazHolding” LLC).
To minimize the capital investments for the development of production capacities the plant was built in Kostanai near AgromashHolding, taking the area of 17.1 hectares. Also, in the immediate proximity of the plant are the buildings: an administrative and utility room and an auxiliary storehouse corpus with a total area of more than 9 thousand square meters in the 3.37 hectares. The decision on the location of the production in the Kostanai region was made taking into account the proximity to raw materials sources, convenient geographical location, developed industrial infrastructure of the region, extensive network of railways and roads, economic potential of the region.
