T8.6 trillion of investments, F1 track, golf courses – the draft master plan of the city of Alatau is presented

A draft of the master plan of the future Alatau city has been presented, the agency's correspondent reports.

"The city of Alatau is located north of the city of Almaty, along the A3 highway (Almaty-Konaev), which is an important corridor linking the city of Almaty with the international center of cross-border cooperation Khorgos (China), and enjoys the strategic advantages of the New Silk Road initiative," the draft master plan says.

According to the document, "being located at the intersection of several key trade and transport highways, including the Almaty-Konaev highway, existing and planned rail, freight and economic corridors of international importance, as well as a new planned international airport, the project city has great potential to create a new logistics and export-oriented industry base, creating significant opportunities for providing jobs in the region".

The Alatau City area is expected to be divided into four key zones:

1) Gate- financial and business center;

2) Golden- the center of education, science and food industry;

3) Growing - industrial and logistics center;

4) Green - tourist and entertainment center.

"It is planned to build an F1 race track in the Green District, which will become one of the anchor and main tourist attractions of the city of Alatau. The F1 race track can host several racing events per year, as well as other events and concerts at the nearby arena. In addition, racing events usually involve many small events and last two to three days," the document says.

There are also plans to build an aquapark and golf courses in the city.

The estimated investment volume is T8 611 353 040 000.
