Cooperation will be established with the China Development Institute on the Alatau Special Economic Zone

Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev and Vice President of the China Development Institute Jian Qu hold negotiations on the construction of Alatau City. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Ministers of Justice, National Economy, Industry and Construction of Kazakhstan.

The city of Alatau was established in January 2024 by Decree of the Head of State. In May, the General Plan was approved. In October, the Prime Minister's Decree established a Project Office chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev.

‘Within the framework of the Project Office, government agencies have formed 3 subgroups with the involvement of expert communities on amendments to legislation, investments, infrastructure, as well as land issues and trade. All subgroups are carrying out certain work. We are interested in the successful experience of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone development. We are pleased to partner with you in the framework of creation a new Alatau city and would like to see your organization as an advisor and consultant,’ said Kanat Bozumbayev.

China Development Institute is an independent think tank founded in 1989 in Shenzhen. It has been recognised as one of the leading analytical centers in China since 2015.
