Skyscrapers designed by Burj Khalifa architects will be constructed in Kazakhstan

A complex with two towers based on a design by the Burj Khalifa's creators is planned to be built in Alatau by 2029.

According to Caliber.Az, citing local media, this was announced by the Kazakh government.

Construction will begin in May 2026, with the chinese company China State Construction Engineering Corporation also involved in the project, and the american bureau Skidmore, Owings & Merrill developing the architectural concept. This is one of the first companies that built skyscrapers in New York and Chicago in the 1950s-1970s, and then worked on projects in other countries.

The total area of the complex will be 276,8 thousand square meters, and it will include offices, apartments, a hotel, and shops.

Alatau сity is a city in southern Kazakhstan. According to the authorities' plans, it will become the first fully digital city in the region, where it will be possible to pay for goods and services with cryptocurrency.
