Chief consultant for the Alatau City project and chairman of Asia Infrastructure Solutions, Wong Heang Fine, gave an interview to the 24KZ channel.

Wong Heang Fine is the chief consultant for the Alatau City project, chairman of Asia Infrastructure Solutions, and a member of the advisory board for Global Infrastructure Solutions in Asia.

A renowned expert in Singapore with over 40 years of experience in construction, development, and engineering consulting, one of the leading engineers who has brought about systemic changes in urban planning and sustainable development in Southeast Asia, shared his thoughts on the strategic goals, international interest, and progress of the Alatau new city project in an interview with 24KZ.

- What was your personal motivation to join the Alatau City project? What attracted you to it in particular?

- Projects like this are rare, which is what makes them so valuable. Alatau City is interesting because it is not just an urban concept involving the construction of a new residential area or business cluster. It is much more than that. We are talking about the creation of a completely new city that has the potential to transform the economy of an entire country, set new standards of quality of life, and open up fundamentally new opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship, and innovative development. This project is not just being built on the ground; it is building the future. And being part of such a transformation is truly inspiring, Mr. Wong shared.

- President Tokayev expressed confidence that your recommendations as chief consultant will be put into practice. How, in your opinion, does the support of the head of state affect the credibility of the project and its international recognition?

- The support of the head of state, especially when it comes to systemic transformations, plays a key role. The Alatau City project requires new solutions that are atypical for the existing administrative and economic model. In the process, we are faced with the need to revise certain rules, adapt the investment climate, and create new incentives. The appointment and participation of the president gives confidence both within the country and beyond, especially to potential investors, for whom stability and support at the highest level are key factors in their decision-making. Mr. Wong replied.
