The owner of Alatau City Bank will change the bank name

The company that owns Alatau City Bank (formerly Jusan Bank), First Heartland Securities (FHS), owned by billionaire Vyacheslav Kim, has decided to change its name to United Group Alatau. This is according to the company's disclosed corporate data.

First Heartland Securities acquired a stake in Alatau City Bank even before the previous renaming, in early 2019. At that time, the company acquired the crisis-stricken Tsesna Bank, which was soon renamed Jusan Bank. In September 2021, Jusan Bank also took control of Galimzhan Yesenov's ATFBank.

Bloomberg first reported on Vyacheslav Kim's intention to acquire Jusan Bank in September 2024, citing its sources. It was only in July 2025 that Kim completed the purchase of the former Jusan Bank, gaining control of FHS.

According to Forbes, Kaspi.kz co-founder Vyacheslav Kim is the richest person in Kazakhstan, with an estimated net worth of $7.1 billion. At the end of May 2025, he has announced that he planned to invest $1 billion of his own funds in Alatau.
