Kazakhstan was the first in the region to introduce a
full-fledged ecosystem of urban air mobility: air taxis, delivery drones and
digital navigation.
Kazakhstan has taken an important step into the
technological future: with the support of the Ministry of AI and digital development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the first demonstration flight of an
innovative electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, eVTOL, better known
as an air taxi, took place at the Alatau City site.
The project is fully implemented through private
investments by the Kazakh company Alatau Advance Air Group Ltd. (AAAG) in
partnership with leading technology players from the USA, China, South Korea
and Italy. The total amount of investments in the development of urban air
mobility in the region is estimated at 300 million US dollars.
"Today, Kazakhstan is making an important step in
the development of a new generation of transport. eVTOL's demonstration flights
show that breakthrough urban air mobility technologies are gradually moving
from the conceptual stage to practical application.
For Alatau city, this is the formation of a new smart
city infrastructure. We are talking about creating an entire ecosystem, from
air taxis and vertiports to digital navigation and cargo drones. This is how
the low-altitude economy is starting to develop in Kazakhstan.
We are creating conditions for such solutions to come
to the country, adapt to our cities and work for the quality of life of
citizens, business development and technological competitiveness of
Kazakhstan," said Deputy Prime-minister, Minister of artificial intelligence and digital development Zhaslan Madiyev.
