Alatau City Bank and Halyk bank have become partners in the development of Alatau city

The Alatau City Authority, Alatau City Bank, and Halyk Bank have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at promoting the comprehensive development of the city of Alatau as Kazakhstan’s new hub for innovation, technology, investment, and entrepreneurship.
The document was signed by Alisher Abdykadyrov, Chief Executive Officer of the Alatau City Authority; Kuat Kozhakhmetov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alatau City Bank; and Umut Shayakhmetova, Chairwoman of the Management Board of Halyk Bank.
The signing of the agreement marked another step toward achieving the development goals for the city of Alatau outlined by Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The head of state has repeatedly emphasized the strategic importance of establishing a modern innovation ecosystem in Alatau capable of attracting investment, talent, technology, and new industries.
“The city of Alatau is being developed as a new growth hub for Kazakhstan’s economy, bringing together innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship. To achieve these goals, it is important to forge strong partnerships between the government, financial institutions, and the business community. “The signed agreement will allow us to combine the parties’ expertise to implement projects that will contribute to the development of a modern urban environment and enhance Alatau’s investment appeal,” said Alisher Abdykadyrov, Chief Executive Officer of the Alatau City Authority.
The agreement provides for cooperation between the parties across a wide range of areas, including the development of artificial intelligence, the low-altitude economy, “smart city” technologies, the Internet of Things (IoT), Web3, digital assets, fintech, the tokenization of real assets, and the implementation of cutting-edge digital solutions in urban infrastructure.
Kuat Kozhakhmetov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alatau City Bank, noted:
“We are pleased to be part of a project as important to the country as the development of the city of Alatau. As a pioneer in integrating the crypto industry with the traditional banking system in Kazakhstan, we view this ‘city of the future’ as a platform for implementing tomorrow’s cutting-edge financial and technological solutions, including in the field of digital assets. The signed agreement brings together the capabilities of the government and financial institutions to implement next-generation projects. We are confident that this partnership will accelerate the development of Alatau and establish it as one of the most attractive centers for investment and innovation in Central Asia.”
In addition, the parties intend to collaborate in the field of high-tech manufacturing, including transportation and logistics, tourism, education, science, and healthcare.
The development of the city of Alatau is in line with the strategic objectives of diversifying the economy and creating new growth centers set by the head of state. Umut Shayakhmetova, Chair of the Board of Halyk Bank, emphasized:
“As the country’s largest financial institution, Halyk Bank is fully engaged in projects aimed at developing digital infrastructure, supporting entrepreneurship, introducing innovative technologies, and improving residents’ quality of life.
