Alatau City Bank and Binance Kazakhstan has launched cryptocurrency payments via QR codes and POS terminals

Alatau City Bank, in partnership with Binance Kazakhstan—a locally regulated subsidiary of the leading Binance blockchain ecosystem in Kazakhstan—has launched the Crypto Pay service (powered by Binance Pay). This partnership enables Binance Kazakhstan users to pay for goods and services with cryptocurrency via QR codes and POS terminals within Alatau City Bank’s acquiring network. The new service makes using digital assets in everyday life just as simple and convenient as traditional cashless payments.
The project was implemented with the support of the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (MIICT) as part of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan’s regulatory sandbox, which allows for the introduction of innovative financial solutions under regulatory oversight while ensuring a high level of security and compliance with current legislation.
The service was first presented to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, during his visit to the Alem.AI artificial intelligence center. Today, the project is moving from a technology demonstration to a full-scale launch, offering users a new way to use digital assets for everyday purchases.
