Alatau City will be the first fully digital city, integrating infrastructure, urban services, and the economy through big data, cutting-edge technologies, and smart governance, the President of Kazakhstan said.
Alatau City will become the first fully digital city where infrastructure, urban services, and the economy are integrated through big data, advanced technologies, and smart governance. This was stated by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at a meeting on the development of Alatau.
“As is well known, the decision to establish the new city of Alatau was made under challenging economic conditions for the country, but it was carefully considered. Alatau City is a thoroughly developed and well-calibrated project. Global experience shows that cities of the future can take countries’ development to an entirely new level. Dubai, Shenzhen, Incheon, and many other cities are good examples. Accordingly, expectations for the Alatau City project are high. To achieve this goal, we must first address legal, land-related, and infrastructure issues,” Tokayev said, according to the press service of the President of Kazakhstan.
The Head of State emphasised the importance of developing Alatau’s regulatory acts with the involvement of leading international experts who have experience in establishing similar legal frameworks.
“The city administration plans to ensure that all key regulatory acts for Alatau are adopted within 12 months. The City Development Council should accelerate this process. We cannot allow the work to be delayed. Any delay will result in direct investment losses and undermine business confidence. International investors will not wait for years while we create the necessary conditions. They make decisions here and now when promising opportunities arise. Therefore, legislative work on the Alatau project must be carried out swiftly and to a high standard. This is a critically important strategic task,” the President stated.
