What connects the United Kingdom and Alatau City? The answer emerged in London, where a Kazakh delegation spent several days meeting with potential partners and discussing joint projects. The visit resulted in agreements worth more than $1 billion. Which sectors attracted the interest of British partners, and what opportunities will this cooperation bring to Kazakhstan?
This exchange of business cards represents more than just another business meeting. It marks an important step towards enabling Kazakh children to receive a British education in their home country. During the meeting, Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev shook hands with John Weeks, Executive head of Brighton College International, a group of international schools. Brighton College International and several other leading British universities are planning to establish educational institutions in Alatau City.
Notably, Kazakh businessman Vyacheslav Kim, who has topped the Forbes ranking for the past three consecutive years, will participate as a private investor in the implementation of these educational projects.
Kanat Bozumbayev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan:
“We discussed a number of highly important issues, particularly the development of an education and research cluster. We signed an agreement with the University of Exeter and will now work more closely together to establish a major University of Exeter campus in Alatau City.”
The negotiations covered a wide range of areas, including technology and artificial intelligence, industry, energy and the digital economy.
The Kazakh delegation held talks with representatives of 70 international companies, resulting in the signing of agreements worth a total of $1.3 billion.
