The city’s European roadshow has begun. London hosted the Alatau City Investment Roundtable.
“It is no coincidence that we are starting the roadshow in London, one of the world’s leading financial and legal centers.” - Kanat Bozumbayev, Deputy Prime Minister.
70+ participants - companies, funds, banks and expert organizations, including JPMorgan Chase, AstraZeneca, BP and Brookfield Asset Management.
The Alatau City Authority focused on the city’s development areas: engineering and transport infrastructure, and industrial, business and logistics zones. Arup, the international firm, spoke about spatial planning. Baiterek National Managing Holding presented its project financing instruments.
Meetings were held with the London Stock Exchange, Brookfield Asset Management, Société Générale, J.P. Morgan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
9 agreements - the total investment potential is $1.3 billion.
The agreements cover:
• financing of infrastructure and investment projects
• educational and healthcare infrastructure
• international cooperation
For example, the agreements provide for developing educational institutions with the University of Exeter, Brighton College and Repton Group.
Talks with AstraZeneca and Crescent Meditours cover developing healthcare infrastructure and scientific exchange.
The roadshow will continue with meetings with UK government bodies and financial institutions, and will then move on to Germany.
