The Ministry of National Economy of
Kazakhstan informed about the prospects associated with the creation of a new
city of Alatau, reports Kazinform agency.
- A new city of Alatau has been
created in Kazakhstan. The total area is 88 thousand hectares. The population
of the city is 52.7 thousand people. As part of the implementation of the order
of the President of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of National Economy has developed
a plan of organizational measures to create a new city of Alatau ("On some
issues of administrative-territorial structure of Almaty region").
In accordance with the plan, the
Ministry of National Economy together with the Akimat of Almaty region has
carried out work on the preparation of economic calculations, schematic map of
the new city, as well as held meetings of the population, based on which
decisions were made by the maslikhats of Almaty region, as well as Ili, Talgar
districts and the city of Konaev. Creation of the new city will allow to
modernize road networks, objects of engineering, social infrastructure, create
new jobs, attract investments, technologies, additional financial flows,
develop entrepreneurial activity, increase tax revenues, which, in turn, will
contribute to improving the investment attractiveness and economic stability of
the region, - reported in the press service of the department.
At the same time, the Government
approved the decision to expand the SEZ territory from 30 thousand to 96.5
thousand hectares and renaming SEZ G4 City to SEZ Alatau. Thus, the whole
territory of Alatau city and part of Konaev city are referred to the SEZ
territory.
On the territory of SEZ it is
supposed to place more than 170 projects on 17 names of GCEA (General
Classifier of Economic Activities) on priority types of activity, for a total
amount of 12.5 trillion tenge, with the creation of 110 thousand new jobs.
- According to forecast data, after
reaching the design capacity of SEZ facilities, their estimated total
contribution for the entire period will amount to 47.3 trillion tenge,
including a multiplier effect of 17 trillion tenge. It should be noted that for
every 1 tenge of state investment attracts 3.8 tenge of private, - summarized
in the Ministry.
Earlier it was reported that the Head
of State signed the Decree “On changes in the administrative-territorial
structure of Almaty region”.
