Akim of Almaty Yerbolat Dosayev and
Akim of Almaty region Marat Sultangaziyev held the third meeting of the Local
Council of Almaty agglomeration. During the meeting they considered the issues
of updating of the Comprehensive Urban Planning Scheme of the suburban zone of
Almaty and construction of transport and transurbanization of the Almaty
agglomeration. Almaty and the construction of the transport hub (TH)
"North".
"Within the framework of
fulfillment of the order of the President of Kazakhstan K.J. Tokayev in the
plan of development of Almaty agglomeration it is envisaged to carry out 130 activities,
77 of which should be carried out by Almaty region", - said the akim of
Almaty region Marat Sultangaziyev.
The issues of possible relocation of
a number of industrial enterprises outside Almaty were also considered. It is
planned to form a plan for relocation of industrial enterprises and, if
approved, to create the most comfortable conditions for the relocation of
entrepreneurs to the territory of the region.
This measure is conditioned by
environmental requirements stipulated by the General Plan of Almaty until 2040
and new detailed planning projects (DPP).
One of the important issues is to
determine the location of the North TH, the most important element of the
Master Plan of the transportation framework of Almaty. The local agglomeration
council has agreed on the location of the TH in Ili district of Almaty region.
A unique bus park with a capacity of up to 400 buses of different classes is
planned to be built on this site. The park project has no analogues in
Kazakhstan in terms of planned infrastructure for charging and refueling of
vehicles.
During the meeting were discussed
priority activities to be carried out by the Akimats of Almaty and Almaty
region to modernize the system of public utilities and energy, construction of
small industrial parks and additional industrial zones.
"As part of the development of
manufacturing industry in the Almaty agglomeration, the main focus is on the
creation of new industrial zones in Almaty region. The Almaty agglomeration,
the core of which is Almaty, includes cities of district significance, 31 rural
districts and about 98 settlements with a population of about 3 million people.
The agglomeration territory covers 2 administrative-territorial units (Almaty
city and Almaty region), which have their own regional development plans and
other state planning programs.
It should be noted that the Comprehensive Development Plan of Almaty agglomeration up to 2029 was developed under the instruction of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and approved by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan in December 2023.
