It is possible that the first university to be built in Alatau will be the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). Negotiations on this are currently underway between representatives of the two countries. The South Korean government also plans to invest in research on the production of rare earth metals. A memorandum of understanding was signed at the forum between the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan and the South Korean Airport Corporation.

The two countries plan to jointly develop an air taxi service in the city of Alatau.  As noted by representatives of the Kazakh ministries, Alatau is ideal for the development of air taxi services.
