How South Korea reacted to the Alatau City project

On October 15, Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Kanat Bozumbaev presented the Alatau City project at a roadshow in South Korea. The initiative and discussion of joint projects caused a great stir in the South Korean media, according to a Kazinform correspondent.

Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Kanat Bozumbaev took part in the opening of the Alatau Rise With Kazakhstan Forum, presenting the Alatau new city project to potential investors and partners.

Alatau City is considered as a future hub for technology companies and export-oriented industries. The city is ready to offer special incentive programs for target industries like urban air mobility and the hydrogen economy, where Kazakhstan and Korea can work together.

Speaking at the forum, Kanat Bozumbayev noted the great potential for cooperation with Korean companies in the fields of electronics, renewable energy, medicine, education, and the digitalization of urban services.

It was noted that today more than 800 Korean companies are successfully operating throughout Kazakhstan in the fields of energy, construction, finance, healthcare, the automotive industry, and high technology. In 2024, the Republic of Korea ranked 10th among Kazakhstan's trading partners and 3rd in terms of investment in Kazakhstan.

- We are interested in further expanding joint projects and attracting Korean industrial and energy companies, we are open for mutually beneficial cooperation and invite you to participate in the national Alatau City project, Kanat Bozumbayev said.
