Former
senator and chairman of the board of directors of Caspian Group Yuriy Tskhay
presented a project to build a new business district, Gate District, in Alatau
city, according to the Almaty Region Akimat. The project includes the
construction of a landmark business center, Iconic Building.
“A
trilateral agreement on this project was reached on the sidelines of the
Kazakhstan-China Business Council with the participation of the heads of state
in September this year,” the regional administration said in a statement.
The
Alatau SEZ website reports that a financial center is planned for construction
in the Gate District (located between the settlements of Otegen batyr,
Pokrovka, Koyankus, Yntymak, and Zhanalyk). It will offer unique conditions for
doing business, including zero rates for corporate income tax, individual
income tax, land and property taxes.
The
business center will be a complex of Class A business centers with full
infrastructure. In addition, hotels and shopping and entertainment centers will
be built in the area for residents and visitors to spend their free time.
At the
end of September 2025, the government announced that the Iconic Building-1
International Business Development Center would become the anchor project of
the Gate District. Kanat Bozumbayev instructed the authorities and investors to
speed up the construction of this facility, which will become a symbol of the
launch of the Alatau City project.
