The
new version of the Constitution proposes introducing an article on the
possibility of establishing a special legal regime in the financial sphere in
city. This was announced by Bakyt Nurmukhanov, deputy chairman of the
Constitutional Court of Kazakhstan, at the fourth meeting of the Constitutional
Commission.
He
mentioned Alatau city and Astana financial center as examples. At the same
time, according to Nurmukhanov, this provision should not contradict another
fundamental amendment to the Constitution—on the unity of the state, the
integrity, inviolability, and inalienability of its territory.
“These
measures are aimed at ensuring the effective economic development of the
republic,” added the deputy chairman of the Constitutional Court.
Earlier,
Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov noted that the funds received as a result of the
tax reform will be directed towards infrastructure development, including in
Alatau city.
