Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting of Alatau city Development
Council as part of the President's instructions, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing
the government's press service.
As
reported at the meeting, conceptual and urban development plans are being
prepared for the city, as well as a development strategy with specific
parameters for construction, requirements for the quality of the living
environment, landscaping, and transport accessibility. A model for human
capital formation is also being discussed, with an emphasis on attracting
qualified specialists and increasing the share of Kazakhstani personnel in
high-tech and management segments.
Meanwhile,
the Parliament is considering a draft constitutional law on the special status
of the city of Alatau. The project's investment portfolio includes 44 projects
worth about 1.8 trillion tenge, creating more than 30,000 jobs. At the same
time, key infrastructure projects are being implemented and conditions are
being created for the launch of anchor investments.
An
operational committee has been set up to coordinate the work, and international
experts are to be involved in developing the regulatory framework. The Prime
Minister has instructed that the development of engineering infrastructure for
large investment projects be accelerated.
