Parliament has approved the draft constitutional law on the Special Status of the city of Alatau

At a joint session of both chambers of parliament, deputies approved at the first reading of the draft Constitutional Law “On the Special Status of the city of Alatau,” according to the agency’s correspondent.

The draft law provides for Alatau to adopt its own regulations in the following areas:

investment relations;
entrepreneurial activity;
urban planning;
and digital administration.

“If these goals are achieved, international experts will predict that by 2050 the city’s gross regional product could reach $50 billion,” Bozumbayev believes.
