Gao Bo, Chairman of China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), spoke at the roadshow.
From the podium, he outlined the details of the construction of the Iconic Towers mixed-use complex, designed by leading international architects Zaha Hadid Architects (UK) and the American firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM).
"In May 2026, the project’s feasibility study was approved, and preparations for construction entered an active phase. Construction is expected to begin in October 2026. The total area of the first phase is 283,000 square metres, including a 272-metre main tower, an 80-metre auxiliary tower and associated infrastructure. Upon completion, the project will become the first complex in Central Asia to combine green technologies, ‘smart city’ features and sustainable architecture,” said Bo.
Iconic Building will be the first complex in Central Asia to be entirely based on ‘green’ and smart technologies. The project is being implemented in partnership with Caspian Group and JSC ‘NC ‘Kazakhstan Investment’.
