What Bozumbayev told the Chinese media
Responding to questions from Chinese journalists immediately after the forum, Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev named Shenzhen as the main model for Alatau: the city has grown from a fishing village into a centre of innovation and has become an example of openness to investors.
“We will follow their example in terms of flexible governance, independent decision-making, the creation of appropriate infrastructure, the minimisation of bureaucracy, and a positive, favourable attitude towards investors – both foreign and local,” he said.
Speaking about the future of Alatau, Bozumbayev emphasised total digitalisation and artificial intelligence:
"The city of Alatau will make maximum use of artificial intelligence. All processes will be based on AI-driven mechanisms. It is a “crypto-city” with 100% tokenisation and 100% digitalisation. We want to attract investment from all over the world, including small investors.‘
When asked what Alatau should be associated with in the future, Bozumbayev replied: ’Alatau is about drones, drone taxis, medical equipment, science, tourism and education."
The Deputy Prime Minister also described the current phase of relations between Kazakhstan and China as a “golden age of good-neighbourliness” and noted that Alatau City would become a key platform for taking cooperation between the two countries to a new level.
According to him, the city will become a hub for science, tourism, medicine and unmanned technologies, including drone taxis.
High business interest has already secured the city its first 24 agreements worth around $6 billion. The international roadshow will continue in Hong Kong, where a further 30 strategic documents are planned to be signed with new investors.
