Zhaslan Madiyev discussed the development of technology and the digital economy with Binance founder Changpeng Zhao

As part of the implementation of the Head of State’s directives on the active development of digitalisation and artificial intelligence, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Zhaslan Madiyev, held a meeting with Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) at the Alem.ai International AI Centre. The parties discussed the development of Kazakhstan’s digital economy, the introduction of cutting-edge technologies, and the prospects for computing infrastructure.
During the delegation’s visit, the CryptoCity concept in AlatauCity and the Data Centre Valley project, aimed at strengthening the country’s position as a regional AI hub, were presented.
In addition, a presentation was given on the Binance Pay partnership with Alatau City Bank, and two memoranda of understanding were signed – one with the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the other with the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC).
The first document provides for the development of cooperation in the field of digital assets, digital and computing infrastructure, as well as innovative payment solutions. Key areas of focus include the launch of a stablecoin in Kazakhstan, the further development of infrastructure for payments using digital assets, the refinement of tax and legal approaches in the field of digital assets, and the introduction of new products and services. The second memorandum concerns the development of cooperation within the framework of the Investment Tax Residency Programme.
