A plan for the development of the Alatau Smart City masterplan was presented at the event, along with projects to create the K-Park ethno-cultural complex, open a branch of the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) and introduce a system for managing manned and unmanned air traffic. Opportunities for South Korean participation in the development of Alatau City were also discussed at a separate meeting with the leadership of the state-owned corporation KIND, attended by Rustam Karagoyshin.
The first document is a strategic agreement between the Qazaqstan Investment Corporation and KIND on the establishment of a joint Kazakhstani-Korean investment fund. On the Kazakhstani side, the document was signed by Rustam Karagoyshin, and on the Korean side by Kim Bok-hwan, President and CEO of KIND. In the initial phase, the fund may amount to US$200 million with equal participation from both parties, rising to US$1 billion in the future. The funds are planned to be channelled into projects in the fields of infrastructure, logistics, energy and urban development, including Alatau City.
