Baiterek Holding participated in the 14th meeting of the Kazakhstan-Korea Business Council in Seoul as part of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s state visit to the Republic of Korea, Zakon.kz reports.
The delegation of the Holding was headed by Chairman of the Management Board Rustam Karagoyshin. The discussions focused on attracting Korean investment, expanding financing instruments, and implementing joint projects in Kazakhstan.
The first document was a strategic agreement between Qazaqstan Investment Corporation and KIND on establishing a joint Kazakhstan-Korea Investment Fund. The document was signed by Rustam Karagoyshin on the Kazakh side and Kim Bok Hwan, President and CEO of KIND, on the Korean side.
At the initial stage, the fund may have a capital of $200 million, with the parties contributing on an equal basis. The fund is subsequently expected to be scaled up to $1 billion. The funds will be directed towards projects in infrastructure, logistics, energy, and urban development, including Alatau City.
