Following the state visit of the President of Kazakhstan to South Korea, the two sides signed a wide range of agreements. Nearly 16 documents worth more than $4 billion were signed on projects related specifically to the development of Alatau City.
Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev outlined the key projects. They include the development of a new district in Alatau City with the participation of Korean urban developers, the establishment of an investment fund, and the launch of joint ventures.
Education will be another major area of cooperation. Alatau City plans to host a large campus of the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). The campus is expected to offer engineering and technology programs, specialized laboratories, and exchange programs for students, faculty, and researchers.
Investment is also expected to be directed toward logistics, rare earth metals processing, and other projects.
According to Kanat Bozumbayev, the visit is expected to give fresh momentum to cooperation between Kazakhstan and South Korea. The next step is to translate the agreements signed into concrete projects and practical results.
