Jung Ki-Hong, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Kazakhstan, paid an official visit to the Karaganda Region. At a meeting with the regional akim, Yermaganbet Bulekpaev, they discussed ways of expanding cooperation in the fields of the economy, education and culture.
The regional governor highlighted the region’s interest in attracting Korean investment and developing joint projects, with a particular focus on cooperation in the high-tech sector. A factory producing Samsung household appliances is already operating in the Saran industrial zone. In future, ultrasound scanners will be manufactured here in partnership with the South Korean company Samsung Medison.
— We are ready to provide full support for the project and to resolve all organisational and infrastructure issues promptly. I am confident that its successful implementation will lay the foundations for the further development of industrial cooperation with South Korean companies and for attracting new high-tech manufacturing facilities to the region. We attach great importance to developing relations with your country and are keen to foster trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation,” noted Yermaganbet Bulekpaev.
The Ambassador reported that he had already visited the industrial zone and familiarised himself with the plant’s operations and the prospects for implementing the new project.
“This is my first official visit to the region since my appointment to Kazakhstan. I believe we have great potential for cooperation, and we will maintain close contact,” said Jung Ki-Hong.
